Consumo responsable, hacia un cambio de paradigma.
En estos últimos tiempos estamos entrando en un cambio de paradigma real en el cual los consumidores de a poco están tomando las riendas y se están empoderando.
Entendiendo y analizando mucho más los aspectos que engloban al todo de un producto, más allá del precio y el diseño de la etiqueta.
Lejos quedaron las épocas del Marketing instalador de tendencias con propagandas carentes de información que proponía e insertaba tendencias vacías y banales.
Y en la mayoría de los casos, nocivas para la salud y el medio ambiente.
La llegada de Internet y la facilidad al acceso de la información cambió las reglas de juego, el paradigma de la comunicación, y sobre todo el la forma de consumo.
El impacto que tiene una producción en el medio ambiente, ingredientes, costes de comercialización y las cadenas de valor que aparecen implicadas en una producción, son analizadas en detalle.
Nace así, el consumidor responsable.
Una persona informada y consciente de sus hábitos de consumo.
Englobado por Las Naciones Unidas dentro de los Objetivos del Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), consiste en fomentar el uso eficiente de los recursos y energía, infraestructuras que no dañen el medio ambiente y la mejora del acceso a los servicios básicos.
En la sociedad de consumo en la que vivimos, es fácil dejarse llevar y ser manipulados por la publicidad.
Como la creación de empleos ecológicos (también conocidos como empleos verdes), justamente remunerados y con buenas condiciones laborales.
El concepto de consumidor responsable es relativamente nuevo y se refiere a los hábitos de consumo.
Plantea que los seres humanos podemos cambiar nuestros hábitos de consumo ajustándonos a necesidades reales y a las del planeta, escogiendo opciones que favorezcan el medio ambiente y la igualdad social.

Para ello, priorizar el impacto ambiental de los productos que consumimos, elegir compañías con prácticas responsables probadas, que respeten la justicia social y el medio ambiente es un primer paso.
¿Y qué es el consumo responsable?
Una forma de consumir que tiene en cuenta los impactos sociales, económicos y ambientales.
Sobre las materias primas y los procesos de fabricación de los productos que adquiere y toma a estos factores fundamentalmente decisivos al momento de su compra.
En el caso de las empresas, el Consejo Mundial Empresarial para el Desarrollo Sustentable define la responsabilidad social empresaria como…
“El compromiso permanente de las empresas de comportarse éticamente y de contribuir al desarrollo económico, al tiempo que se mejora la calidad de vida de los trabajadores y sus familias, así como de la comunidad local y la sociedad”.
¿Qué son los empleos verdes?
Los empleos verdes son cruciales para el desarrollo sostenible y responden a los desafíos mundiales de protección del medio ambiente, desarrollo económico e inclusión social.
¿Cómo ser un consumidor responsable?
- Cuida el agua. En argentina no somos conscientes de la suerte que tenemos de tener agua en abundancia y eso se nota cuando nos lavamos los dientes. No hace falta dejar la canilla abierta, lo mismo en la ducha 😉
- Cuida la luz. Apagar todos los artefactos cuando no se usan y las luces de las habitaciones vacías también nos convierte en consumidores responsables.
- Reciclar. Ir al chino o la verdulería con una bolsa de compras, o utilizar bolsas y papel reciclado, como así también realizar un compost son maneras muy sencillas de colaborar.
- Adquiere lo necesario para evitar el desperdicio. Salir del papel pasivo donde solo compramos por comprar.
- Compra local. Entre más local puedas comprar, mejor, así ayudarás a la economía de tu región y evitas la huella de carbono.
- Preguntar e investigar. Para mi la más importante y clave para conocer la forma y los motivos de producir los alimentos, para saber si afectó al medio ambiente, si usa pesticidas, químicos, etcétera. Saber el nombre del productor implica ir un paso más allá, conocer los motivos que lo impulsan, también.
- Investiga de dónde viene lo que compras. En caso de no adquirirlo directamente con el productor, sino con el intermediario.
- Comercio Justo. Esto implica que en toda la cadena de elaboración hubo condiciones laborales equitativas.
- .Prefiere aquellos alimentos que estén vinculados a una cultura, territorio y sobre todo, la temporada. Los tomates solo se cosechan en verano. 🍅
- Procura que sea un producto bueno para ti y que te guste comerlo.
- Elige los alimentos que estén libres de manipulación genética, (GMO Free) químicos, pesticidas y aditivos químicos. Ya sean orgánicos u agroecologicos.
- OJO! Cuando compras a un supermercado, el dinero se va a grandes empresas, lo cual significa perpetuar la alimentación industrializada.
- ¡No regatear! Si lo haces no estás comprando a un precio razonable, además afectas al productor. Valora el trabajo que hay detrás de su mercancía. Esto es para mi, uno de los aspectos más importantes. El productor es el eslabón más débil (y el más importante) en la cadena de valor de un alimento.
