¿Que es la Obsolescencia Programada?
Me imagino que te preguntaras, que hago escribiendo sobre la Obsolescencia Programada.
Te aseguro que yo también me lo pregunté cuando république este posteo. .
Recuerdo que lo escribí hace mucho tiempo y lo hice justamente por tiene que ver directamente con la sustentabilidad.
Y como desde SEMILLA VIVA entendemos a cada cosa como parte de un todo, vas a ver que tiene mucho que ver y es relevante para nosotros.
Para comprender cómo nace, es necesario saber que llevo a distintas personas a desarrollar esta nueva forma de pensamiento.
Y todo comenzó con la lámpara o bombilla eléctrica…

¿Sabías que las bombillas están programadas para durar solamente 1000 hs?
Si bien todos pensamos que fue Edison quien inventó las lamparitas de luz, el inglés fue Joseph Wilson Swan, patentó en 1878 la bombilla usando filamentos de papel carbonizados dentro de un bulbo de cristal.
Posteriormente, las mejoras de Thomas Edison permitieron que la bombilla tuviera una larga duración.
La creciente producción llevó a los productores a crear productos de corta duración, para poder mantener sus fábricas trabajando constantemente.
Eso llevó a establecer los tiempos de vida útil de los productos y mantener el ritmo de crecimiento de la industria.
En 1924 el cártel Phoebus, pactó limitar la vida útil de las bombillas eléctricas a solo 1000 horas, y penalizaba a los fabricantes que no lo cumplieran.
Esto sucede hoy en día con la mayoría de los electrodomésticos y ropa inclusive, lo que llevó a los consumidores en la rutina de comprar, tirar, comprar.
Que es por cierto el nombre de un documental muy interesante que explica en detalle todo esto.
En fin, la obsolescencia programada es la programación de la vida útil de un producto para favorecer y mantener la producción industrial.
Nota de color. Existe una lámpara de luz que está en uso desde 1901 aprox, en Livermore, California, demuestra que es posible (o fue posible) producir lámparas de larguísima duración.
